Der kleine Ort Clarens\u00a0gilt als das Tor zum Golden Gate Highlands\u00a0National Park. Aber es gibt auch dort einiges zu entdecken. Neben vielen Cafes und Restaurants ist er vor allem f\u00fcr seine zahlreichen K\u00fcnstler, Galerien und Ateliers bekannt. Man kann gem\u00fctlich durch die Stra\u00dfen bummeln und sch\u00f6ne Handarbeiten entdecken.<\/p>\n

Nicht weit von Carens\u00a0ist der Eingang zum Golden Gate Park. Der Name kommt von den Ockerfarbenen Bergen, die in der Sonne golden leuchten. Der Park reicht bis an die Grenze Lesothos und die h\u00f6chsten Gipfel sind knapp 3000m hoch. Aber besonders die pittoresken\u00a0Felsformationen\u00a0und die fantastische Aussicht lohnen. Mit etwas Gl\u00fcck sieht man auch Antilopen oder Zebras. Bei meinem Besuch im Mai 2007 war leider das Wetter nicht all zu gut. Besser gesagt, es war eiskalt und auf dem Hinweg schneite es sogar leicht. Da ist es besser die Gegend im Sommer zu erkunden.<\/p>\n

Im Park gibt es ein Basotho Dorf, in dem Besuchern die traditionelle Lebensweise gezeigt wird. Es sind diverse H\u00fctten aufgebaut, man kann lokale Gerichte probieren und es werden T\u00e4nze aufgef\u00fchrt.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
